Senior Radar Engineer, Air Defense

Anduril Industries  · Irvine, California, United States  · Sep 15, 2026

Anduril’s Air Defense team builds autonomous robots that find other robots and knock them out of the sky. This team is the nexus of premier Anduril-built products such as Roadrunner, Sentry, Anvil, Pulsar, and Wisp integrated into a software-enabled Air Defense family of systems tailored to the modern battle-space. At a time when air superiority can no longer be taken for granted, we provide critical force protection capabilities to support the warfighter. Our autonomous family of networked sensors and effectors enables our users to rapidly close the kill chain against a broad range of UAS threats that continue to evolve at a rapid pace. Detecting a small, fast, low-flying drone is the hardest problem in the counter-UAS kill chain, and everything downstream depends on getting it right. We are looking for a Senior Radar Engineer to join our rapidly growing Air Defense team based in Irvine, CA. In this role, you will own the architecture, performance, and detection and tracking performance of networked radar systems that feed our family of systems, working alongside effector, autonomy, and Lattice teams to turn a raw detection into a closed kill chain. This will require deep radar systems expertise, the judgment to make hard performance trades against real threat sets, and the willingness to stay hands-on from sensor performance through field integration.

Responsibilities:
Architect and implement RF sensing technologies for air defense radar systems and multi-domain platforms
Requirements:
Work with our internal and external radars to validate advanced radar techniques, waveforms, signal processing algorithms, and detection/tracking technologies against evolving UAS threats
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architectures and concepts of operations for networked sensor and effector engagements
Create and drive consensus on internal technical roadmaps for counter-UAS radar capabilities
Provide technical leadership to program management and business development teams to support strategic decision-making
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field, and 5+ years of hands-on experience in radar systems engineering, including hardware, algorithms, or software development
Strong expertise in radar architecture, waveform design, radar modes, and system-level modeling
Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for radar simulation and analysis
Proven track record in a technical leadership role developing high-performance defense radar systems
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Hands-on experience developing RF sensing systems for detection and tracking of small, low-observable, low-altitude targets
Proficiency in C++ for real-time embedded systems or signal processing pipelines
Clearance Required: Secret
